Your face is what most people first notice about you so it is important that you take proper care of it.  You do not have to have an elaborate skin care ritual and a whole collection of skin care products to give your face the basic care it needs.  Aside from washing it with mild soap and water, you need to apply a daily face cream and a separate eye cream.  When choosing a face cream, pick one that hydrates, prevents wrinkles and helps the skin regenerate.

Before buying a face cream however, you need to do a little facial skin analysis.  Do you have dry skin?  Do you have fine lines or deep wrinkles or both?  The kind of face cream you should look for must be one that can address the skin problems you have identified.  But remember that before making a purchase, you first need to try it out so ask for testers instead.  This is nothing to be ashamed of; in fact that is exactly why there are testers in the first place.  One thing to remember though when using a tester:  use the product in small quantities.  This will keep you from being harmed if the product turns out to contain ingredients that you may be allergic to.  When getting a sample, look for one that is made for only one application.

For your convenience, try to buy easy and fast use products so you wouldn’t have to spend too much time doing your skin care routine.  When you enter the store, make sure to tell the shop assistant exactly what you want.  Listen to what she has to say about the product and try to determine if she is telling the truth.  If you think she isn’t, ask her for details.  If she offers you a very expensive product, don’t purchase it until you have tested it.

As far as I’m concerned the best face creams are those that use natural ingredients as these are rarely cause allergic reactions.  Products that are chemically based must be used with great caution most especially by people with problematic skin.

After choosing the best face cream for you, find a cream that you can use around your eyes.  That skin on that area is sensitive so never use your face cream on it because if you do it will swell and become irritated.  Chamomile compressions or gels are great for your eyes as they have a calming, antiseptic effect.  If you have wrinkles around your eyes, get an anti-wrinkle cream specially formulated for that area and a regular hydrating cream for the rest of your face.

There is not one best face cream that is suitable for everyone.  Each skin type reacts differently to the same product.  What works for another person may not necessarily work for you unless you have the same skin type.  Another factor to consider is the price.  A high priced cream does not work better than a cheaper one, it’s just that the manufacturers spend more on advertising and they are passing on the cost to the consumers.

If you are not up to the task of going through the hit and miss method of finding the right cream; or if you have tried everything but nothing worked, it would be best to consult your dermatologist.  He or she has the expertise to determine which cream is best for you.
