One of the best things about being young is having supple, smooth and healthy skin. As we get older we go through stress and fatigue. These things cause us to lose sleep, eat an unhealthy diet, or to overwork in order to meet the demands of the job, family or both. People who are in such situations end up looking haggard and old even if they are still too young to have that look. Regardless of your age, it is important that you take special care of your skin.
The most wrinkle prone area of the face is the area around the eyes. Of course wrinkles are bound to development with time because it is part of the natural ageing process. As we get older, our skin loses its elasticity, becomes drier and eventually wrinkles develop. The ageing process is manifested differently from person to person. Factors that come into play include the diet, lifestyle and genes. However, there are still steps you can take to make your wrinkles less noticeable and to slow down the development of more wrinkles. - First thing to remember is that it is possible for anti-ageing creams to work negatively through overuse. By doing that, you can in fact make things worse therefore do not become dependent on these creams.
- Your diet also greatly affects the quality of your skin. Eating fruits, vegetables and light foods will make your skin clearer and will help to slow down the ageing process. Make sure to include vegetables, salads and soup in your daily meals.
- The use of natural products is highly beneficial. Our grandmothers had beautiful skin because of homemade skin treatments. A beauty mask made of honey, lemon and yogurt works wonderfully in hydrating your face. All you need to do is apply it on your face, let it stay for 10 minutes, then wash it off. You will immediately feel your skin becoming healthier.
- Smoking is one of the worse enemies of our skin. Smokers have dry facial skin that is predisposed to wrinkles. Nicotine has been found to have a strong connection to premature ageing. You don’t even have to be a smoker yourself to suffer the negative effects of nicotine because exposure cigarette smoke is enough to make your skin pale and dry.
- Another major skin ageing factor is long exposure to the sun. This causes premature ageing that is why it is important to protect our skin from it. Always use a sunscreen lotion whenever you go out into the sun. Constant exposure to the sun not only causes our skin to age faster, but it also increases our risk of developing skin cancer.
- Your emotions can also cause you to have more wrinkles. Being upset causes expression wrinkles which can eventually become permanent. If you want to skin to stay young, learn how to be calm. According to studies, people who are more impulsive have more wrinkles. It is also important that you get at least 8 hours of sleep a day because sleep and skin health also have a direct connection. Get your beauty sleep. Give yourself at least an hour in the afternoon to get a few zzzs.
- Avoid strict diets as these do not supply your body and skin the vitamins and nutrients you need. Make sure to include fish in your meals because they contain omega fats that help keep the skin healthy and elastic.
There is no great secret to getting rid of wrinkles. Just stick to the basics: keep your skin clean and well-hydrated and nature will reward you for it.
