    Although science has not found the ultimate solution to ageing, it has discovered ways to slow it down and these include living a healthy lifestyle, eating a healthy diet and having a  good exercise regimen.  At the same time, science has also successfully identified factors that can speed up ageing and these are smoking, excessive consumption of alcoholic drinks, eating too much fatty foods, and extreme exposure to the sun.

    There are many different age defying products and treatments available but because they are chemically based, we cannot really be assured that they will not cause any damage to our health.  Products made from natural ingredients are the better choice.  Pills made from herbs are safer and provide many health benefits.  Instead of taking sleeping pills, go for lavender pills instead.  They also work very well as a sedative.  Garlic pills fortify the system and Ginkgo biloba pills are an effective treatment for internal malfunctions.

    Our skin protects our internal organs from elements that may harm them.  It keeps us safe from infections as well as from the heat and the cold which is why we should take special care of it.  However, ageing causes the development of skin wrinkles which can be very unsightly especially when they appear on the face.  Aside from ageing there are factors that can cause wrinkles and these are smoking, a bad diet, and extreme wind and sun exposure.

    Our face begins to show signs of ageing when we reach a certain age thus we need to do something fast before they become permanent.  At age 40 the skin will have reached its maximum period of vitality and from that point on would increasingly lose its capacity to regenerate.

    The aging process is a slow but continuous process.  Reaching a certain age does not mean you automatically look older.  What will really determine how you age is your diet and how you take care of your skin.

    Dryness and wrinkles are the result of ageing because the skin is no longer able to produce enough collagen that keeps the skin elastic.  When you reach the age of 40 your body’s ability to assimilate vitamins decreases thus in order to compensate, you need to increase the amount of eat more fruits and vegetables that you eat. 

    Having regular general check-ups with your doctor will also help you be protected from diseases that can speed-up the ageing process.

    Whether you are old or not, exercise is a must.  People who are beginning to feel the effects of ageing should start on a regular exercise program to prevent muscle atrophy.  If you don’t exercise not only will your muscle become weaker but your body will take on a droopy look.  Aside from regular exercise, switch to a low fat diet and if you drink alcohol, it would be best to drink less of it or better yet, quit altogether.

    Lack of rest and sleep results in premature ageing.  During sleep the body and brain is rejuvenated.  As you age you will require less sleep but if you are experiencing trouble sleeping, use natural methods to induce sleep or else seek medical attention.

    Ageing is nothing to be scared of.  You can do something to delay it but because it is a natural process, enjoy the ride as well.
